Well we’ve reached the final stretch of May. June—the finest month of the year because it’s my birthday month—is almost upon us.
It’s kind of crazy to think that I’ve been writing these Wordle guides now for almost half a year. The word puzzle game is not quite the massive hit sensation it was back in January and February but it’s still a fun little diversion. A word a day and nothing more. One unifying thing in an age of division and malcontent.
The world may be spinning out of control. War and climate change, COVID-19, political madness and culture war. But hey, we can all do Wordle together and that’s pretty cool if you ask me. Language is often used to create strife, but its deeper purpose is to build bridges between people. If only we would use it how it’s intended more often, perhaps we could stop all this bickering and arguing over who killed who.
But enough pipe dreams for one day. Let’s take a look at today’s Wordle, shall we? Wordle Bot was super kind to me today so that’s been refreshing.
Today’s Wordle #339 Answer & Hint
Be warned, weary traveler, spoilers approach!
Here’s today’s Wordle hint: A collection of melodic audio files.
And the answer is . . . .
MORE FOR YOU
Wordle Bot tells me that stare is a great opening word, and normally it would trim the remaining possible solutions down to just 71—but this time, 126 were left. Oh well, guessing the preferred opening word—crane—wouldn’t have been any better. Both words give you the ‘a’ and neither give it to you in green.
“Clonk?” Wordle Bot asks. “Impressive vocabulary!” Thanks, Wordle Bot! I’m blushing!
“This was a great choice. Your guess cut the number of remaining solutions from 126 to 4.” Dang, that was a great choice!
For squid, Wordle Bot gives me a “Nice” and informs me that I’ve now cut the remaining solutions to just one. Sure enough, my next guess—album—is the correct answer and I am now the king of the internet.
Bow to me, denizens of the web, and tremble.
