Trump’s PAC is doling out millions in legal fees over 2020 election investigations — just not to Rudy Giuliani

Trump’s PAC is helping pay millions in legal fees but is penny-pinching when it comes to Giuliani.
Giuliani has more than $3 million in legal fees, but the PAC has only helped with a fraction of that, CNN reported.
Giuliani went to Trump in Mar-a-Lago to request more financial help, per The New York Times.

Save America, Donald Trump’s political action committee, is dishing out millions to help the former president and others in his inner circle afford the legal fees related to investigations into their conduct around the 2020 election.

But one attorney is apparently missing out on the seven-digit checks: Rudy Giuliani.

The former mayor of New York City, who is now disbarred from practicing law in the state, is sitting on about $3 million in legal fees, The New York Times reported. And Trump, Giuliani’s former client, seems reluctant to help.

Giuliani was one of Trump’s most vociferous supporters during the battle over the 2020 election results. Giuliani crisscrossed the country at the time, filing legal claims in swing states and promoting false claims of a rigged vote. After that effort fell apart, Trump refused to help Giuliani with the costs associated with it.

That reluctance to unburden Giuliani’s legal debt now appears unchanged.

A Georgia grand jury indicted Trump, Giuliani, and more than a dozen other Trump allies this week for their attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Even before that indictment, however, the financial stress had been intense enough for Giuliani and his own attorney to visit Trump in Mar-a-Lago in April, and yet again plead for monetary relief, CNN first reported.

While Save America has paid about $21 million in legal fees for Trump and others in his circle, records show the PAC has only given $340,000 to Giuliani. That payment was made in order to settle Giuliani’s bill with a data vendor called Trustpoint, CNN reported.

Giuliani did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment, nor did the Save America PAC.
